Cafe Skills
Mondays and Tuesdays, 9.30am to 2.30pm
Learn to work in a real-life café environment. Skills gained include coffee making, food preparation, customer service and cash handling. The course includes an accredited safe food handling qualification.
$185 per term or $70 without safe food handling qualification.
Hair and Beauty
Wednesdays, 9.30am to 2.30pm
Learn how to present yourself and others for work, social and special occasions by discovering the current trends in make-up, hair styles, nails, skin care and basic treatments.
$60 for an 8 week course
Sewing - FREE
Wednesdays, 9.30am to 11.30am
Learn all you need to know about using a sewing machine - while learning pattern cutting, trends and measurements.
First Aid (Level 2) and CPR Training
Thursday 23 November, 9am to 3.30pm
Current First Aid is essential for work and home and a requirement for many industries. Learn the skills and knowledge to be able to provide first aid response and life support, manage casualty(ies), the incident, and other first aiders, until qualified emergency help arrives at the scene of the incident. Delivered by Australian Education and Training (RTO 3399).
$165 for the full-day course (HLTAID011)
$65 for the CPR half-day refresher only (HLTAID009). Places in this course are FREE for youth aged 15-21. Free youth training spots are offered with the support of Give Where You Live Foundation.
Barista Coffee Making
Tuesdays, 4pm to 6pm
Coffee 101. From Latte’s to chai’s, Cappuccino’s to Mocha’s. You will learn all the basics in making a superb cup of liquid gold.
Participate in this course to gain hands-on experience in the coffee and hospitality industry or learn the basics to grow your skills for your machine at home.
$50 for a 4 week course
Safe Food Handling
Tuesday 31 October, 9.30am to 3.30pm
An essential skill for a career in the hospitality industry. Learn about correct storage temperatures, dealing with 'danger' foods, personal hygiene, cleaning, and more.
This course is delivered by Laverton Community and Education Centre (RTO 6408) at Rosewall Community Centre. SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety
$120 for full-day course. Places in this course are FREE for youth aged 15-21. Free youth training spots are offered with the support of Give Where You Live Foundation.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021)
Thursday 16 November, 9.30am to 1.30pm
Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021) is compulsory for anyone selling, offering or serving alcohol. Gain the skills needed for work in the hospitality in a face-to-face learning environment, close to home.
This course is delivered by Laverton Community and Education Centre (RTO 6408) at Rosewall Community Centre.
Participants who complete this program receive a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate from the Victorian Commission for Gaming & Liquor Regulation. In addition they receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency SITHFAB021 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol
$70 for half-day course. Places in this course are FREE for youth aged 15-21. Free youth training spots are offered with the support of Give Where You Live Foundation.
Be Job Ready (15-21 year olds)
Wednesday 18 October, 4pm to 6pm
Learn the basic skills to get your first job. Snacks provided! We'll talk about:
- How to make your resume stand out, even when you don't have previous experience
- How to get a tax file number
- Submitting an application
- Understanding what super is

Many of our activities are drop-in, meaning that you can start them anytime and we love to see new faces come along!

Our Work Skills and Creative classes including Pottery, Painting and Drawing, and Mosaics are term-based meaning that you need to register and pay for the term ahead. Payment plans are available on request, please ask us about these. Many of our classes are also Job Active approved. Contact us for more information.
