What we do
Rosewall Neighbourhood Centre Inc. (trading as Rosewall Community Centre) is a not-for-profit Neighbourhood House located in a modern, multipurpose building on Sharland Road, Corio in Geelong’s northern suburbs.
Guided by social justice and community development principles, Rosewall is a place for people of all ages, abilities, identities and from all backgrounds. Rosewall provides a responsive range of education, creative, and wellbeing activities and services, and we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Rosewall is a registered Learn Local, funded to deliver pre-accredited education programs that pathway onto further education or employment.
As well as the Sharland Rd site, Rosewall Neighbourhood Centre is responsible for the management of the Hendy St Hall and both venues have a range of spaces available for community and private hire.
Rosewall is a thriving and healthy community.
We will strengthen the Corio community by providing education, creative and wellbeing programs and services.
We recognise that strength comes from diversity and support people of all abilities, identities and backgrounds to participate fully in community life.
We share, listen and work together to achieve individual and shared goals.
We promote a love of learning through life’s many stages and provide a flexible and supportive place to grow and learn.
We seek out new ideas and ways of responding to community need and interest.
We act openly and honestly at all times and are a trusted and reliable partner with community and our stakeholders.
Rosewall Neighbourhood Centre Inc. (trading as Rosewall Community Centre) is a not-for-profit Neighbourhood House that has operated at 36 Sharland Rd, Corio since July 1980.
The Centre was established by the (then) Shire of Corio (this was the local Government prior to amalgamation into the City of Greater Geelong), and was originally part of a hub that included Rosewall Primary School and Rosewall Kindergarten.
Rosewall Neighbourhood Centre became an incorporated association in 1989 and has since been managed by a Committee of Management, comprised of local volunteers.
